Group Project Financial Accountant- London- ACA/ACCA/CIMA- Up to Β£72,000- 9 Month Contract We are working with a well-established organisation in London that is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant on an initial 9-month fixed term contract . This is a project-focused financial accounting role , with a particular emphasis on IFRS 15 revenue recognition, financial reporting and finance transformation . The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a number of important finance projects, improving processes and ensuring the business is operating with robust and compliant financial accounting practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant who enjoys project-based work, has strong technical accounting knowledge and can make an immediate impact within a changing finance environment. The Role As Interim Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for: Taking a lead role in IFRS 15 revenue recognition , reviewing existing accounting treatments and ensuring revenue is recognised appropriately and accurately. Supporting and delivering finance transformation projects , improving financial accounting processes, controls and reporting. Reviewing and improving revenue recognition processes, policies and controls in line with IFRS 15. Working closely with key stakeholders across finance and the wider business to understand revenue streams, contracts and accounting requirements . Supporting the delivery of year-end statutory reporting and financial statements. Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors , providing supporting schedules, documentation and resolving audit queries. Supporting month-end and year-end close , including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations. Reviewing existing financial accounting processes and identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency and improved controls . Supporting the implementation of improvements across financial reporting, systems and accounting processes . Providing technical accounting support on complex transactions and financial accounting matters . Working on wider financial accounting and transformation projects as required. About You We're looking for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working on projects, transformation and complex financial accounting matters . You'll ideally have: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with strong post-qualified experience. Strong hands-on experience across financial accounting and technical accounting . Proven experience with IFRS 15 revenue recognition , ideally within a complex or multi-stream revenue environment. Strong experience preparing or supporting year-end statutory accounts and financial reporting . Previous experience working directly with external auditors and managing audit queries. Experience delivering or contributing to finance transformation, process improvement or systems projects . Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes . Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions . The ability to analyse existing processes, identify improvements and drive projects through to implementation . Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles . The ability to quickly understand a new business, systems, processes and revenue models. A hands-on, proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a busy and changing finance environment. Previous experience in an interim or fixed-term contract environment would be advantageous. The Opportunity This is a great opportunity for a fully qualified Financial Accountant to join a well-established London organisation for an initial 6-month period and take ownership of a range of IFRS 15, financial accounting and finance transformation projects . The role would suit someone who enjoys technical accounting, project work and improving how finance operates , rather than a role focused purely on BAU financial accounting.
