We are looking for an Interim Finance Data Analyst to join a fast-paced, commercially driven client. This role sits within the finance function but is not a traditional accounting position — it is heavily focused on data manipulation, commercial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data flowing into the general ledger.

You will play a key role in handling large volumes of cost of sales and commission data, working across multiple systems, and supporting pricing, partner payments, and commercial decision-making. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, improving data quality, and delivering clear insights to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management & Analysis
    • Extract, download, and manipulate large volumes of data from internal and external systems
    • Cleanse and structure data from complex / legacy (“clunky”) systems for reporting and analysis
    • Use advanced Excel techniques to transform raw data into meaningful outputs
    • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting using Power BI
    • Identify trends, errors, and inconsistencies, providing clear summaries for management
  • Commercial & Pricing Support
    • Ensure high levels of accuracy when setting up pricing and partner payment structures
    • Review and assess commercial changes from networks and evaluate their impact on financial models
    • Support the creation of bespoke product offerings with Sales and Operations
    • Work closely with Product and Marketing teams to ensure correct product and commercial setup
    • Support complex deals by assessing financial viability and ensuring alignment with network terms
  • Commission & Payment Processing
    • Process and upload commercial payment files within commission systems
    • Reconcile network commission payments against expected values, investigating variances
    • Manage receivables reporting across multiple networks and resolve discrepancies
    • Investigate rejected payments or disputes, working with internal teams and external partners
    • Ensure accurate tracking and coding of payments in collaboration with finance and accounting teams
  • Reconciliation & Finance Support
    • Reconcile manipulated data back to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness
    • Support month-end and year-end processes, including audit preparation
    • Liaise with finance teams on reporting, coding, and ad hoc financial analysis
    • Work with Quality Control teams to ensure products are correctly configured and validated
  • Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a key point of contact for product and data-related queries across multiple platforms
    • Proactively identify inefficiencies in systems or processes and recommend improvements
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, Product, Marketing, and Finance
    • Deliver tailored analytical reports, including insights into debt recovery and financial performance
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a data-heavy finance, commercial, or analytics role
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. Power Query, Pivot Tables, complex formulas)
  • Strong experience using Power BI for reporting and visualisation
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple systems
  • Understanding of financial data flows into the general ledger and reconciliation processes
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing stakeholders independently
