We are seeking a Financial Accountant on a 12-month contract to join our finance team and support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across the business. This role will play a key part in ensuring month-end and year-end processes are executed efficiently, while partnering closely with international finance teams and external advisors. This position requires fluent French language skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial statements in line with IFRS and US GAAP requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual statutory accounts and manage the year-end audit process.
- Support tax compliance, including VAT returns, Corporation Tax, and other local statutory filings.
- Maintain and monitor internal controls and SOX compliance standards.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and local finance partners.
- Work closely with the global controllership team to support financial matters and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiencies.
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects as required.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
- 5+ years' accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with proficiency in IFRS.
- Experience preparing UK statutory accounts and managing audit processes.
- Good understanding of tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax).
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Fluent in French.

- Experience working in a multinational environment.
- Exposure to SOX compliance.
- Experience in retail, consumer goods, or a similar sector.
