Interim Senior Accountant- 6 Month Contract- High Wycombe (Hybrid)- ACCA/CIMA/ACA- Circa £300 Per Day Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Senior Accountant (Interim, 6 months) to support the UK&I finance team of a key client. The role will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely month-end accounts, supporting internal audit activities, strengthening internal controls, and providing accounting cover across the UK&I function.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for a qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with proven experience in month-end reporting, management accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal audit/internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process, including preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Deliver accurate and timely management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary.
- Support the internal audit process, ensuring compliance with group policies and external audit requirements.
- Review, test, and enhance internal controls to ensure robust financial governance.
- Provide general accounting cover for the UK&I team, including ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Partner with wider finance colleagues and business stakeholders to ensure accounting processes are effective and well-documented.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Candidate Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
- Strong experience in month-end close, management accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Proven exposure to internal audit and internal controls frameworks.
- Excellent Excel skills; ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on interim role, managing priorities in a busy finance environment.
- Effective communicator, with the ability to build strong working relationships across finance and the wider business.
