Job Description

Interim Financial Modeller- 3-6 Month Contract- Circa £600 Per Day- Camberley, Surrey (Hybrid)

Role Overview:

I'm currently partnering with a key client on the recruitment of a commercially astute and technically strong financial modelling professional to take ownership of building and maintaining sophisticated, long-range financial models that directly inform executive decision-making. This role is instrumental in enabling strategic planning, supporting investment decisions, and driving performance insight across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and evolve comprehensive long-term financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment planning, and growth scenarios.
  • Act as a trusted partner to executive leadership, providing financial insight that shapes key commercial and operational decisions.
  • Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support risk assessment and inform resource allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, commercial, and operational teams to ensure all modelling reflects real-world assumptions and aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Review and enhance existing models, driving improvements in transparency, structure, and scalability.
  • Provide hands-on modelling support during strategic reviews, M&A activity, or transformational change programmes.

Desired Skillset: 

  • Extensive experience in developing and owning complex, forward-looking financial models in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to translate financial data into insight and influence decision-making at board or executive level.
  • Advanced Excel skills essential; exposure to Power BI or similar modelling tools desirable.
  • Strong grounding in investment appraisal, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Proven track record of working within financial modelling roles in complex, large data environments 
  • Self- starter with the ability to challenge assumptions and communicate complex information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience in a commercially focused modelling role.
