Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Interim Finance Manager to take ownership of the month-end close and delivery of accurate, timely management accounts across the UK and EMEA regions. This role requires a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with strong management accounting, inter-company accounting, and process improvement experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving process efficiencies, ensuring compliance, managing both month-end and year-end accounting, and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver financial insight and support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts for UK and EMEA entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group reporting timelines.
  • Manage all aspects of inter-company accounting, including reconciliations, eliminations, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring integrity and robustness of financial data.
  • Manage VAT returns and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Drive process automation and continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Partner with business stakeholders across finance and operations, providing clear insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Take ownership of year-end accounting and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate statutory submissions in line with FRS 102, UK GAAP, and/or IFRS standards.
  • Lead on audit preparation and act as the key point of contact for external auditors, ensuring all reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation are complete and audit-ready.
  • Support internal audit reviews and implement recommendations to strengthen controls.
  • Mentor and support junior finance staff as required, fostering a culture of accountability and improvement.

Key Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record in management accounting, year-end accounting, and inter-company accounting within multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, UK GAAP and/or IFRS reporting standards.
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts and managing external audit processes.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate, analyse, and present complex data clearly.
  • Experience in driving process automation and finance transformation projects.
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous experience working across UK and EMEA regions desirable.
