Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Barnsly (Maximum 1 Weeks Notice required)
Employment Type: 6 month Contract + Extension
Salary: £400 a day
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of the profit and loss account (P&L), balance sheet, and providing strategic financial insight through business partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Ensure timely month-end close processes and deliverables.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure integrity of financial information.
- Provide commentary and insight on financial performance to senior management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and forecasts.
- Support cost control initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Business Partnering
- Act as a key finance liaison for business units, supporting operational managers with financial insight and advice.
- Help non-finance stakeholders understand financial data and the impact of their decisions on business performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased financial efficiency.
- Compliance & Controls
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and financial reporting.
- Experience in business partnering and providing financial insights to non-finance teams.
- Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
