We are looking for a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join a busy and established Vehicle Preparation team in Warrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Technician who enjoys variety and is looking for a Monday-to-Friday role with no weekend working.

We're not necessarily looking for a highly skilled Diagnostic or Master Technician.

Instead, we're looking for someone with good practical mechanical experience and an MOT Tester qualification who is comfortable carrying out a mixture of PDI, vehicle preparation, light mechanical work and MOT testing.

MOT qualified but haven't tested for a while?

We'd still like to hear from you.

We are happy to consider someone who needs a refresher and support getting back up to speed with MOT testing.

The Role

Working within the Vehicle Preparation team, you'll help ensure used vehicle stock is inspected, prepared and ready to the required standard.

The position offers plenty of variety, and your workload will change depending on business requirements.

At times, you may predominantly carry out PDI and vehicle preparation work, while during other periods MOT testing could become your primary responsibility.

Your duties will include

  • Carrying out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards
  • Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs)
  • Carrying out vehicle safety and condition inspections
  • Completing light mechanical repairs and fitting work
  • Identifying defects and required remedial work
  • Preparing used vehicle stock to the required standard
  • Completing relevant MOT and inspection documentation
  • Working alongside the wider preparation and workshop teams
  • Moving between PDI and MOT duties depending on business requirements

What We're Looking For

The MOT Tester qualification is the key requirement for this position.

Ideally, you'll have

  • An MOT Tester qualification/licence
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, PDI Technician, MOT Tester or Fast-Fit Technician
  • Good practical mechanical knowledge
  • The ability to carry out PDI and light mechanical work
  • Good attention to detail
  • A reliable and flexible approach to your work
  • You do not need to be a Diagnostic or Master Technician to be considered.
  • Equally, if you're MOT qualified but haven't tested recently, don't let that put you off.

Candidates who require an MOT refresher before returning to regular testing will be considered.

  • Salary & Hours
  • £35,600 basic salary
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekend working
  • Warrington

What's On Offer?

  • Competitive £35,600 basic salary
  • Monday-to-Friday working pattern
  • No Saturday or Sunday working
  • Early 4:00pm finish
