Shifts: Shift patterns Monday–Sunday.

Overview: We are working with a leading food manufacturer to recruit a proactive Technical Assistant. In this hands-on technical role, you will support the Technologist and Technical Manager in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance across the production site. You’ll carry out audits, support technical projects, complete sampling, and play a key role in ensuring that all products meet strict technical and customer requirements.

About You: You will have experience working in a food manufacturing/FMCG environment and bring knowledge of food hygiene and quality management systems. As the Technical Assistant, you will have experience in a QA/QC or technical role within food manufacturing (preferred). Strong communication skills, especially when engaging with production teams. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative, follow through on issues, and support continuous improvement.

What will you be doing?

  • Support the daily technical agenda across the site like collecting and preparing microbiological samples, swabs and water samples.
  • Support taste panels and product assessments.
  • Follow up on raw material and finished goods issues to ensure timely decisions.
  • Conduct internal audits (GMP, fabrication, hygiene, paperwork).
  • Support customer complaint investigations.
  • Carry out equipment checks and calibration verifications.
  • CCP verification and validation activities.
  • Update and maintain technical data logging systems.
  • Conduct traceability audits and support mass balance checks.
