This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Shift Lead (4 On 4 Off Nights & Days) to join a well‑established food manufacturing business within a fast‑paced automated operation. The site supplies major customers and is committed to operational excellence, food safety, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in leading shift performance, driving efficiency, and ensuring customer demand is met safely and cost‑effectively.
About you…
- Previous experience at Shift Lead / Shift Manager level within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and quality standards
- Experience managing people, performance, and time & attendance
- The confidence to make decisions under pressure and escalation risk appropriately
- Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills
What will you be doing?
- Lead, motivate and coordinate a shift team of up to 20 direct reports across 3 production lines
- Ensure production plans are achieved through effective labour and line utilisation
- Monitor performance at regular intervals, addressing efficiency, waste, quality and plan attainment
- Maintain full compliance with food safety, quality, health & safety and hygiene standards
- Act as the legally responsible person for food safety on shift
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with Engineering and Technical teams
- Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction and MPS activities
- Chair cross‑functional shift meetings and manage effective shift handovers
- Coach, develop and performance‑manage team members, including identifying training needs
- Ensure accurate record keeping, documentation and reporting
- Deputise for the Production / Operations Manager when required
