Title: Data & AI Trainer Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 DOE Remote – Occasional travel to Birmingham Main objective of role This role involves delivering engaging and interactive training sessions while contributing to the development and improvement of curriculum content. The individual will balance their time between teaching learners to provide impactful training experiences and ensuring the curriculum remains up-to date, comprehensive, and aligned with current industry standards in the relevant field. The trainer will provide instruction in data analysis, management, and AI integration, helping learners develop skills in programming languages, data visualisation, and secure handling of information. They will teach the fundamentals of AI, covering its application in modern business environments, including automation, IoT, and innovation-driven solutions. Learners will gain practical skills in creating AI-powered business models and understanding the role of data in decision-making. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Course Delivery Engaging Instruction: Deliver high-quality, interactive training sessions on relevant topics within the role’s scope, ensuring coverage of foundational and advanced concepts tailored to the subject area. Personalised Learning Support: Monitor and assess learner progress through practical exercises, providing individualised feedback and support to enhance knowledge transfer and skill development. Tailored Content Delivery: Adapt teaching methods and course content to address the diverse needs of learners, accommodating varying skill levels, learning styles, and professional backgrounds. Real-World Application: Facilitate hands-on activities, simulations, and case studies that reinforce practical skills, enabling learners to confidently apply their knowledge in professional scenarios. Learner Assessment: Evaluate learner assignments, projects, and practical exercises, providing constructive feedback aligned with accreditation standards and learning objectives. Curriculum Development Curriculum Ownership: Collaborate with team leads to design, implement, and maintain curriculum content, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends in the field. Feedback-Driven Improvement: Use feedback from stakeholders to enhance curriculum content and delivery methods, improving learner outcomes and overall course effectiveness. Standardisation Efforts: Organise and lead regular standardisation sessions to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and content quality across programmes. Version Control Management: Oversee version control for curriculum updates, maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring consistency across all training materials. Industry Engagement: Stay informed about advancements in the field and collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum content remains relevant and aligned with current standards and market demands. • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the subject area, supporting organisational needs such as staff training, marketing efforts, and partnerships with industry stakeholders. • Trainer Recruitment and Support: Assist in hiring and mentoring trainers within the field, providing guidance, curriculum-focused onboarding, and ongoing support to ensure effective course delivery. General Duties Participate actively in the Appraisal Scheme. Adhere to all policies and procedures. Demonstrate a strong commitment to Safeguarding and Prevent Duty in all aspects of the role. Work diligently to uphold quality standards within the company’s systems. Contribute to best practice meetings and staff training as needed. Continuously develop personal skills and maintain a comprehensive CPD log. Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Leadership Team, as needed. Complete required administrative tasks efficiently and in accordance with regulations. Key Performance Indicators Curriculum Review Completion Rate: Percentage of scheduled curriculum reviews completed on time (target: 100%). Curriculum Update Frequency: Number of updates or improvements made to the curriculum per year based on feedback, industry standards, and learner needs (target: at least one update per year). Learner and Stakeholder Feedback Score: Average satisfaction score from surveys on curriculum relevance, depth, and clarity (target: 85%+ satisfaction). Ofsted Compliance Rate: Percentage of curriculum and teaching practices in the subject area that meet Ofsted standards (target: 100% compliance). Learner Engagement Rate: Percentage of learners actively participating in subject-specific activities and assignments (target: 90%+). Learner Success Rates: Achieve a success rate of over 85%, ensuring timely completion of learner goals. Learner Paperwork: Ensure all required learner paperwork is completed and submitted within specified deadlines. Teaching and Learning Observations: Consistently receive “good” or “outstanding” ratings in teaching and learning observations. Person Specification Criteria Essential/Desirable – E / D Criteria Education and Qualifications GCSE level education or equivalent E Formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PTLLS, CTLLS) or actively working towards one. E Formal assessing qualification or willingness to obtain one. E Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. D Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Certs, CCNA, CCNP, or MCSA. D Experience Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in the IT industry D Background in curriculum development, demonstrating a collaborative approach to creating and updating training materials E Current experience working in an education and skills establishment E Proven experience as a technical trainer or instructor, demonstrating the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse learners. E Experience in designing and delivering innovative and engaging technical training programs that meet the needs of learners at all levels. E Experience in collaborating with others to create and update high-quality training materials, ensuring they are current, relevant, and aligned with industry standards. E Active participation in the IT community, including attendance at conferences, workshops, and forums, or contributions to open-source projects. D Skills Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and demonstrable presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
