Service Desk Engineer

Role: Senior IT Engineer Location: Hybrid – Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum Are you an experienced IT professional looking to take the next step in your career? We\’re seeking a Senior IT Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in developing and enhancing our internal IT operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Director of IT, drive service improvements, and shape the technology landscape of a dynamic and forward-thinking business. In this hands-on role, you\’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex issues, implementing high-quality IT solutions, and ensuring a seamless user experience across the organisation. You\’ll provide 2nd and 3rd line support to end-users both remotely and on-site and be a key contributor to building a robust, secure, and scalable IT environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide responsive and effective IT support, ensuring incidents and requests are resolved in line with SLAs. Manage and track support tickets using an ITSM platform. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across Windows and Mac environments. Conduct root cause analysis to prevent issue recurrence and improve service delivery. Carry out regular patching and system hardening to maintain system security and performance. Share expertise with team members and contribute to skills development through mentoring and knowledge sharing.About You: Proven experience in a senior IT support role, ideally within a fast-paced environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and desktop support. Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence administration. Awareness of cyber security best practices and principles. Exposure to Mac OS support and familiarity with AWS environments is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine enthusiasm for technology.What We Offer: Competitive salary of £30,000-£35,000 per year (based on experience).
