We are partnered with a profitable, NHS-partnered healthtech company as they hire a Product Designer to help transform how primary care works. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role for a designer who loves the craft, ships code, and wants their work to carry real stakes.
About the company
This company is on one of the most ambitious missions in healthtech: building toward genuine precision medicine, starting by fixing how primary care works today. Their platform already supports millions of patients across the UK, with multiple AI-augmented products live across the patient journey - and more launching now. Their AI philosophy is clear and deliberate: co-pilot, not autopilot. Clinicians stay in the loop, always. They are profitable, growing fast, and deliberately lean - and they're now scaling their product team significantly to take on the parts of the patient journey they haven't touched yet.
About the role
This is true 0-1 design work inside a structure most designers never get to work in:
- Small autonomous teams of 2-3 builders - typically two engineer-product builders plus you
- No PM layer - teams are led by the strongest player-coach regardless of background, and you'll do both the thinking and the execution
- You'll ship to production - they specifically want designers who code, working with tools like Cursor and Claude Code
- Direct customer contact - clinic visits and customer calls to deeply understand the people you're designing for
- New product surfaces waiting for an owner - entire product areas are unsupported today and need someone to take them from zero
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 0-1 design experience at a high-growth startup - founding designer, or part of a small team with outsized impact
- Is obsessed with craft, with a meticulous eye for detail
- Ships code - production contributions, not just prototypes, ideally using AI-native tools
- Stays close to the cutting edge - if tools like Cursor, Claude Code or Magic Path are already part of how you work, you'll feel at home
- Has real agency - evidence of running through walls to get things done without hand-holding
- Brings energy - the kind of person who creates momentum in a team
- Communicates with clarity and conviction, even under pushback
Package
Β£120,000-Β£150,000 Equity London-based
Why this role stands out
Very few design roles offer this combination: full ownership with no PM layer, code-level shipping, direct clinical users, and entire product areas to own from zero - inside a profitable company whose work determines whether people get the care they need.
