Our client is a fast-growing smart building technology business, delivering connected energy and building performance solutions through smart metering, sensors, controls integration, and cloud platforms.
The Role
This is a practical, client-facing role where you will take ownership of integration projects end-to-end - from site visits and system design, through installation and commissioning, to final handover. You will be working with a mix of industrial equipment, metering, sensors, gateways, and building systems, integrating via protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LoRaWAN and NB-IoT into a cloud environment. If you enjoy problem-solving on live sites, interfacing between hardware and software, and making data flow reliably - this role will suit you.
What You Will Be Doing

- Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to hit delivery milestones
- Diagnose and resolve issues across hardware, networking, connectivity, and software integration
- Support junior engineers and help raise technical delivery standards across projects
What You Will Need
- Strong experience as a Systems Integrator / Controls Engineer / SCADA Engineer / BMS Integration Engineer
- Background integrating industrial/building equipment (getting disparate systems communicating)
- Hands-on understanding of industrial protocols (especially Modbus + BACnet)
- Confident working with field devices, comms networks, gateways, and cloud-connected platforms
- Solid IT fundamentals (networking, connectivity, troubleshooting, basic data flow concepts)
- Comfortable in a client-facing role with regular travel across the UK
- Proactive mindset - you will take ownership and make things happen
Nice to Have
- Smart metering / energy monitoring / energy management platform experience
- HMI/SCADA tools exposure (any mainstream environment welcomed)
