Responsibilities:
- Reading blueprints and schematics; installing wiring, fixtures, motors, and related electrical equipment; and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes; performing routine maintenance and repairs to keep electrical systems running efficiently.
- Installing and commissioning electrical power and instrumentation systems; interpreting information from schematics and manuals; conducting field level risk assessments; and maintaining safe work environments.
- Providing hands-on or remote support, and contributing to maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability.
- Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and other contractors to ensure reliable and safe electrical installations.
Qualifications:
- Formal apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in electrical maintenance or electrical installation.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and City & Guilds qualifications (e.g., 2391/2394/2395 or equivalent).
- COMPEX certification and experience in ATEX system maintenance/installation (where applicable).
- Experience reading electrical drawings; fault finding and diagnostic skills; and ability to work autonomously and to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills; ability to represent employers professionally at the worksite; basic report writing and computer literacy (MS Office).
- Right to work in the UK (permanent or as required by the role).
