We are delighted to launch our summer vacation scheme with In-House Legal Solutions with a widening participation focus. The scheme is open to EVERYONE (who meets the eligibility criteria - see below) but if you are in a group that is under-represented in the legal industry, please tell us in your application and this will be given weight in our application process.

Open to: Undergraduate law students in their penultimate or final year, law graduates, non-law graduates who have already completed a law conversion.
General eligibility criteria: You must not have been offered a training contract offer at point of application and be available for the full two week scheme.
In-House Legal Solutions is an entrepreneurial business that is disrupting the legal industry. We offer the services of an in-house legal team to our clients which are large international businesses across a variety of sectors. Our team work on matters that an internal legal team to a business assist on, including working on commercial contracts and managing business risk. The scheme will suit someone looking to progress their career in a role with day-to-day, hands on experience of negotiating commercial contracts, drafting sophisticated legal documents and developing client relationships. Interest in corporate / commercial / banking / funds legal areas is a must.
Successful applicants will spend two weeks shadowing our team, including opportunities to spend time with solicitors, trainees and paralegals and operations, administrative and marketing experts. There will also be a fun social event to get to know our team better and a lunch with the firm owners!
To play our part in improving social mobility in the law and support more people from disadvantaged backgrounds to enter into the profession, we encourage widening participation in our scheme.
What might fall under “widening participation”? The below is not an exhaustive list but for example, this may include those:
- from under-represented backgrounds or groups in the legal profession, which may include being from an under-represented ethnic, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender or age group and beyond
- who have a disability or are neurodiverse
- from low-income families
- who are first-generation in their family to attend university
- educated in a non-selective comprehensive state school (whether in the UK or overseas)
- with refugee status
- having had experience in local authority care
