Are you an experienced maintenance engineer with a strong background in hydraulics and pneumatics, looking for a role where your knowledge can shape the next generation of engineers? At In-Comm, we are looking for a technically skilled and passionate individual to join our Training Operations team as a Maintenance Engineer (Fluid Power) / Tutor Assessor. Combining hands-on engineering expertise with teaching, coaching, and assessment, this is a genuinely fulfilling dual role for someone ready to take their career in an exciting new direction — or build on existing experience in vocational education.
What We're Looking For
- A relevant engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering
- GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Proven industry experience as a maintenance engineer with strong, practical knowledge of fluid power systems — hydraulics and pneumatics — including pumps, valves, actuators, compressors, and control systems
- Experience of fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical and fluid systems
- The ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support learners at all levels
- Good record-keeping, organisational skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance
- A teaching qualification (e.g. AET) or assessing qualification (e.g. CAVA) is desirable — training towards these is available and fully funded for the right candidate
- Knowledge of PLCs, automated systems, or current fluid power technologies would be a welcome advantage
