We are now launching Lureo, the world's first no code spatial storytelling platform, opening this new creative medium to creators everywhere.

This is a rare chance to join a fast growing startup at a pivotal moment. We are seeking a VP of Engineering (Spatial Computing) who has a proven track record of delivering high quality products at speed and scale. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of spatial computing, gaming technology, and modern web platforms, along with the ability to translate that knowledge into a world class creator experience. This is a truly hands on role. You will lead and mentor the engineering team while also writing production level code, setting technical direction, and ensuring excellence across the entire product. Your leadership and expertise will shape the future of Lureo and help define the next generation of spatial storytelling for creators around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute the engineering roadmap for our no-code spatial storytelling platform.
  • Platform Development: Lead the architecture, development, and optimization of the platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and ease of use.
  • Innovation & R&D: Stay ahead of industry trends in spatial computing, AR/VR/MR, AI-driven content generation, and real-time 3D rendering.
  • Team Management & Growth: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team across multiple disciplines (e.g., software engineering, 3D graphics, AI, networking, and user experience).
  • Experience Production: Collaborate closely with creative and content teams to deliver immersive spatial storytelling experiences, ensuring technical feasibility and excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to align technical execution with company goals.
  • Quality & Performance: Establish best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, security, and deployment processes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a senior engineering leader in spatial computing, gaming, AR/VR/MR, or related fields.
  • Expertise in real-time 3D graphics, game engines (Unity, Unreal, or WebXR), and immersive interaction design.
  • Strong background in architecting and building scalable platforms, ideally in no-code/low-code environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, or JavaScript (WebGL, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of networking, cloud computing, and backend systems that support immersive experiences.
  • Experience in Unity, C#, Web development, WebGL, and backend technologies.
  • A working style that is highly collaborative and open to working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Possess a 'can do' attitude and strong drive to deliver a world class product.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, fostering innovation, and scaling technology.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Ability to write clean, readable, reusable, and easily maintainable code.
  • Experience with source control systems and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience integrating 3rd party plugins, SDKs and APIs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AI-driven content generation and procedural storytelling.
  • Familiarity with spatial mapping, SLAM, LiDAR, or computer vision technologies.
  • A passion for storytelling, immersive experiences, and democratizing spatial computing.

What We Offer:

  • A unique opportunity to make your mark on the future of spatial storytelling.
  • A collaborative and creative work environment with cutting-edge technology.
  • Competitive salary, equity options, and benefits.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options.

Compensation:

  • A competitive salary with the potential to earn equity in the company.
  • Additional benefits include share options, flexible working hours, training days, company events, and work from home.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is ideally hybrid in Dublin/Ireland and home, however we are open to remote roles for the right candidate.
