THE ROLE

The Finance Assistant will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day activities of the finance function, ensuring financial information is processed accurately and efficiently.

This position offers a varied workload, involving reconciliations, accounts receivable support, financial administration, and stakeholder engagement across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Process cash books and perform daily company credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Manage gift voucher reconciliations, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and balances are maintained.
  • Support accounts receivable activities, assisting with timely and accurate billing and payment processing.
  • Maintain customer and membership accounts within internal systems and respond to account-related queries.
  • Investigate financial queries across multiple finance and operational platforms, resolving inconsistencies and escalating issues where required.
  • Monitor financial procedures and controls, highlighting any reconciliation concerns or control issues to management.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across the business, providing finance support and guidance where needed.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support wider finance projects as required.
  • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator or similar finance support role.
  • Strong understanding of financial administration, reconciliations, and transactional finance processes.
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across different departments.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team environment.
