The Role

You will oversee the preparation of financial accounts and management information.
Your role will involve strategic planning, improving reporting processes, and ensuring team work is accurate and timely.
- Lead and review preparation of financial and management accounts
- Prepare and analyse forecasts and cash flow projections
- Support senior partners with financial insights and strategic advice
- Oversee and review the work of the accounts team, ensuring quality and deadlines
- Mentor and coach team members
- Maintain controls in line with internal policies and standards
- The Ideal Candidate
This role is perfect for someone with comprehensive management experience and a strong background in financial reporting.
You should be confident leading a team, managing multiple priorities, and working within a professional practice environment.
- Mandatory
- Hold a professional accounting qualification (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA).
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in management accounts and financial reporting.
- Be familiar with FRS 102 and UK GAAP standards.
- Have direct line management experience within an accountancy practice or industry setting.
- Be skilled in producing management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Demonstrate strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
- Preferred
- Experience working in an accountancy firm at some point in your career - but applicants currently working in Practice or Industry are invited.
- Knowledge of ERP and reporting tools like Power BI.
- Familiarity with cash flow management and liquidity planning.
