We are partnering with a highly respected accountancy practice to identify exceptional talent for their growing charities and not-for-profit audit and assurance team. Known for its personable, tailored service and deep sector expertise, the firm is seeking an Audit Manager who will play a key role in delivering high‑quality audit and advisory work to an important client base. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes true ownership of their work and client relationships, and who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment. You’ll work closely with experienced partners, sector specialists, and dedicated colleagues, contributing to a culture built on integrity, insight, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of charity and not‑for‑profit organisations, ensuring the delivery of robust audits and bespoke advisory services.
  • Lead engagements end‑to‑end, from initial planning through final reporting, maintaining strong technical standards, regulatory compliance, and meaningful insights throughout.
  • Serve as a key advisor to clients, providing actionable guidance on financial reporting, internal controls, governance matters, and issues unique to the sector.
  • Contribute to business growth by preparing proposals, attending networking opportunities, and identifying ways to strengthen and expand existing client relationships.
  • Support the development of audit seniors and trainees through coaching, on‑the‑job learning, and creating an encouraging, collaborative team environment.
  • Keep informed of changes in regulation and best practice, particularly in areas such as charity governance, SORP requirements, and VAT/tax matters affecting the sector.

About You

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with experience in working with charities or not‑for‑profit organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of the Charities SORP, with an understanding of VAT and tax issues affecting the sector.
  • Personable, professional, and commercially aware, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Collaborative in your approach and proud of the quality of the work you deliver.
