The Practice

A well-established independent practice of accountants and business advisors operates across Central Scotland. With a team of over 100 partners, the business offers a range of services such as accounting, advisory, insolvency, and wealth management. They serve owner-managed businesses, SMEs, large enterprises, and individuals, focusing on clear advice, efficient processes, and long-term support.

The Role

This is a supervisory position overseeing a portfolio of SME clients. You will prepare statutory and management accounts, draft tax computations, and supervise junior team members. Your role involves maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a team that values high-quality service.

The Person

You will be nearly or newly qualified with a solid background in practice accountancy, eager to develop your supervisory skills within a supportive environment. You should be comfortable managing multiple clients and delivering accurate, timely work.

Mandatory

  • Nearly or newly qualified (ACCA, ICAS, ICEAW) with at least 3 years’ practice experience
  • Skilled in preparing sole trader and Limited Company accounts under UK GAAP (FRS102/102A)
  • Strong understanding of UK tax regulations and client compliance
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently

Preferred

  • Experience with audit support or compliance procedures
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards and cloud-based digital tools
  • Familiar with automation and reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Mentoring or training junior staff to support team growth
