We’re working with a well-known and respected accountancy firm in Edinburgh to recruit a motivated Part Qualified Accountant. The role: You’ll work with a range of clients — including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, charities, and trusts — across industries like landed estates, service sectors, and SMEs. You’ll prepare accounts, assist with bookkeeping, and support VAT compliance, all while developing your knowledge and getting closer to qualification.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing annual and management accounts across a diverse client base.
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Communicating with clients and colleagues to deliver a great service.
- Assisting with bookkeeping, invoice processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Managing your time and workload to meet agreed timelines and budgets.
About you:
- You have at least 1 year of experience in a practice-based Accounts Assistant role.
- You’ve worked on accounts up to trial balance or review stage.
- You’re part-qualified (ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent) and actively studying.
- You’ve used cloud accounting software like Xero or QuickBooks — or you're keen to learn.
- You’re a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and learning on the job.
