P/T Finance Assistant
Location:Â EdinburghÂ
Part-time:Â 20 hours per week, over 3 days
Salary: £17.24 per hour (pro rata of £32,385 FTE)
Contract:Â Permanent
A respected third-sector organisation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support its finance operations across Edinburgh and Midlothian.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments and expenses, managing reconciliations, and supporting the wider finance function. This is a varied and rewarding role within a values-led organisation that makes a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, credit notes, staff expenses, and grant administration
- Manage supplier payments, petty cash, and bank reconciliations
- Support with payroll, audit preparation, and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate records using Xero, Excel, and other finance tools
- Assist with general finance admin and contribute to continuous improvement
About You:
- Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles (e.g. accruals, prepayments)
- Proficient in Xero, Microsoft Excel, and Office 365
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Experience with ApprovalMax or Hubdoc is desirable
