Finance Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £32,385 FTE (pro-rata, 20 hours/week)
Hours: 20 hours per week, over three days (flexible pattern, not necessarily consecutive)
Contract: Permanent, office-based

About the Role
This is a key position within a busy finance team, providing vital support to ensure smooth financial operations. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and play a central role in grant administration, accounts payable, and month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and process a variety of grant payments, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Manage accounts payable, including weekly payment runs, supplier invoices, and staff expenses.
- Support month-end tasks such as bank reconciliations, donation coding, and reporting for multiple income streams.
- Maintain accurate records and support the Finance Manager with audit preparation and other finance projects.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and contribute to continuous improvement.
Skills required
- Proven experience in accounts payable/receivable or a similar finance role.
- Confident with bookkeeping principles; experience with Xero or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to pick up new systems quickly.
- Charity sector experience is a bonus, but not essential—attitude and adaptability are key.
- PVG/Disclosure check required (cost reimbursed).
