THE ROLE

As Interim Management Accountant, you will deliver financial insights that improve job costing processes and monthly management reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced systems knowledge, and a hands-on approach to data management and reporting.

  • Conduct detailed job profitability and project costing analysis.
  • Utilise Sage 200 and advanced Excel to extract, analyse, and report on data.
  • Support monthly cycles for sales, cost of sales, margins, overheads, and P&L reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance data accuracy and analytics capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of a new ERP system for a mid-2024 go-live.
  • Support the upskilling of internal teams for post-contract knowledge transfer.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking a self-starter who can hit the ground running, combining technical expertise with a proactive attitude to financial problem-solving. You will have experience in management accounting and thrive in a fast-moving, project-driven business setting.

Mandatory

  • Proven experience in management accounting within project-driven or industrial sectors.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Experience with job costing, gross margins, and cost of sales analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Sage 200 or similar tools.
  • Immediate availability and ability to work onsite.
  • Demonstrable ability to produce accurate financial insights for stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience in private equity-backed organisations.
  • Knowledge of ERP implementation processes.
  • Prior consulting or interim financial experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial insights.
