The Role
As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a vibrant portfolio of SME clients. Your role involves preparing accurate statutory accounts, management reports, and tax computations, ensuring compliance with UK standards. You will work closely with colleagues and clients to deliver a proactive, efficient service, supporting the business with ad hoc projects and key deadlines.
- Manage client portfolios, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports in line with UK GAAP, FRS102, and IFRS.
- Draft corporation and personal tax computations, liaising with HMRC and clients.
- Support month-end, year-end, and statutory audit processes.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Liaise with clients and colleagues to deliver a seamless service.
The Person
The right candidate will be a qualified or QBE practice accountant with at least 3 years of experience. You will have a solid understanding of financial reporting, taxation, and compliance. Your communication skills will help you build strong client relationships, while your IT skills will ensure accuracy and efficiency in your work.
Mandatory
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or AAT qualification or QBE.
- Competent in preparing FRS102 and UK GAAP limited company accounts.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and processes.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and workload management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with cloud accounting tools (Xero, QuickBooks Online).
- Knowledge of audit procedures and internal controls.
- Ability to analyse data using Power BI or similar.
- Exposure to ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
- Practice environment experience working with SME clients.
