Our client, a growing Managed Service Provider, is looking to hire a 3rd Line Engineer / Team Lead to support and develop their expanding technical support function. This role will act as a senior escalation point across the support team while also providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the 3rd line engineering function. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high service standards, resolving complex technical issues, and supporting the ongoing development of the wider technical team.
Working within a fast-paced MSP environment, you’ll support businesses across a broad range of technologies including Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, infrastructure, cyber security, networking, and disaster recovery solutions. This opportunity is well suited to a technically strong engineer looking to combine hands-on project and support work with team leadership responsibilities.
What you’ll do:
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex 3rd line technical issues
- Lead and support the 3rd line engineering team across daily operations and technical delivery
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security incidents
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualisation, backup, and server environments
- Assist with project delivery, system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
- Work closely with 1st and 2nd line teams to provide technical guidance and escalation support
- Monitor service performance and contribute to continual service improvement initiatives
- Create and maintain technical documentation and best practice processes
You’ll collaborate with both technical and operational stakeholders to ensure a high-quality support service is delivered across a varied and growing customer base.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a 3rd Line Engineer, Senior Infrastructure Engineer, or similar position
- Experience leading or mentoring technical engineers within a service desk or MSP environment
- Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, networking, and virtualisation technologies
- Experience supporting complex infrastructure and cloud environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
The ideal candidate will be technically strong, proactive, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced, customer-focused MSP environment.
