My client is looking for an experienced Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing operation on a permanent basis. This is a site-based role working closely with operations, engineering and supply chain teams to ensure production schedules and customer demands are achieved efficiently.

The Role:

  • Create and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, material availability and production capacity.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to minimise delays and production bottlenecks.
  • Liaise daily with operations, engineering and materials teams to ensure production targets are met.
  • Review forecasts, production data and inventory levels to support planning activity.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to manage priorities and delivery expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement activity focused on reducing waste and improving efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production and work-in-progress records through ERP systems.
  • Assist with new product introductions and changes to manufacturing plans where required.

The Person:

  • Previous experience within a production planning, scheduling or manufacturing coordination role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and production processes.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.
  • Analytical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
  • Either degree qualified within a relevant discipline or possess equivalent industry experience.
