A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Raw Materials Stores Person to support material flow, stock control, and manufacturing operations. The Role

  • Receiving and allocating raw material deliveries to manufacturing work orders
  • Safely unloading, storing, and preparing materials for production
  • Operating forklift trucks and pedestrian trucks, including routine safety checks
  • Using band saws to cut raw material bars into billets to specified requirements
  • Maintaining full material identification and traceability through approved marking methods
  • Using measuring equipment and calculations to verify material requirements in both metric and imperial units
  • Supporting stock control activities, including stock takes and inventory reconciliation
  • Assisting with goods receiving, stores operations, and material handling as required
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality, and health & safety

The Person

  • Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working with raw materials, stock allocation systems, and inventory processes
  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to work in metric and imperial measurements
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as tape measures and rules
  • Computer literate and confident using stock management or ERP systems
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety

Desirable

  • Valid Forklift Truck Licence
  • Experience operating band saws or similar material cutting equipment
  • Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of material traceability processes
  • Experience supporting goods receiving and stock control functions
