A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Raw Materials Stores Person to support material flow, stock control, and manufacturing operations. The Role
- Receiving and allocating raw material deliveries to manufacturing work orders
- Safely unloading, storing, and preparing materials for production
- Operating forklift trucks and pedestrian trucks, including routine safety checks
- Using band saws to cut raw material bars into billets to specified requirements
- Maintaining full material identification and traceability through approved marking methods
- Using measuring equipment and calculations to verify material requirements in both metric and imperial units
- Supporting stock control activities, including stock takes and inventory reconciliation
- Assisting with goods receiving, stores operations, and material handling as required
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality, and health & safety
The Person
- Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working with raw materials, stock allocation systems, and inventory processes
- Good numeracy skills with the ability to work in metric and imperial measurements
- Experience using measuring equipment such as tape measures and rules
- Computer literate and confident using stock management or ERP systems
- Well organised with strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments
- Committed to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety
Desirable
- Valid Forklift Truck Licence
- Experience operating band saws or similar material cutting equipment
- Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of material traceability processes
- Experience supporting goods receiving and stock control functions
