Overview

Our client, a leading global SaaS organisation, is seeking an experienced Director of Account Management to transform and lead its customer revenue function across the UK & Ireland. This high‑profile leadership role will redesign the account management strategy, restructure the existing function and create a scalable operating model that drives significant growth from an established customer base. The role focuses on customer retention, expansion and cross‑sell activity, shaping the commercial direction of the business and opening a clear pathway to wider European leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and achieve significant customer revenue growth targets across a customer base of several thousand accounts.
  • Lead and develop a team of 19 professionals, including senior leadership within the function.
  • Restructure and modernise the Account Management organisation by introducing clear accountability, processes and a performance framework.
  • Develop and execute a new customer growth strategy focused on retention, expansion and revenue optimisation.
  • Design and implement a scalable SaaS operating model, including customer segmentation, engagement and coverage strategies.
  • Build a proactive customer journey framework that shifts the function from reactive account support to strategic revenue ownership.
  • Drive cross‑sell and upsell initiatives across a broad portfolio of products and services.
  • Establish operational excellence through consistent workflows, reporting and performance management.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product and Operations teams to maximise customer value and growth opportunities.
  • Lead organisational change and influence senior stakeholders across a complex, matrixed business environment.
  • Prepare the function for international expansion, potentially taking responsibility across Europe.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience within Account Management, Customer Revenue or Customer Success functions in a SaaS or subscription‑based business.
  • Demonstrable success transforming, restructuring or scaling customer‑facing commercial teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering significant revenue growth from existing customers.
  • Experience developing customer segmentation, lifecycle and expansion strategies.
  • Ability to lead large teams through change while building high‑performance cultures.
  • Experience managing both direct and indirect reports within complex organisational structures.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the credibility to influence executive leadership.
  • Previous experience within high‑growth, acquisitive or private‑equity‑backed environments would be advantageous.
