Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking a Desktop Engineer to provide 2nd line on-site support across their Portsmouth site, with occasional travel to Cheltenham. This contract focuses on break/fix support, ensuring end users receive a responsive and high-quality service.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a hands-on environment, supporting critical IT services and maintaining operational continuity across multiple sites.
What you’ll do:
- Provide 2nd line on-site desktop support for incidents and requests
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software break/fix issues
- Support Windows OS, laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals
- Manage device builds, deployments, and replacements
- Escalate complex issues to 3rd line where required
You’ll work closely with local IT teams and end users to ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a Desktop Engineer or 2nd Line Support role
- Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting skills
- Hands-on experience with hardware break/fix
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
