Job Description
Network & Security Consultant (Contract)
Location:Â Fully Remote (UK-based)
Rate: Up to £500 per day (Outside of IR35)
Duration:Â 3 months strong potential for extension
Our client, a leading cyber security and managed services provider, is seeking an experienced Network & Security Consultant to support the delivery of high-performance, secure infrastructure across enterprise and service provider environments.
You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing and optimising network and security solutions that enhance reliability, scalability and resilience, helping clients strengthen their security posture and operational efficiency.
What you’ll do
- Design, configure and deliver network and security solutions
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers
- Implement authorised infrastructure changes and participate in CABs
- Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to problem management
- Produce clear technical documentation, including SOWs and design artefacts
- Support internal projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide on-call technical support when required
- Stay current with emerging threats and technology developments
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in large-scale enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, routing, IP, DNS)
- Strong background in firewall administration (Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD)
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex multi-site network issues
- Professional certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CCSA or PCNSA preferred
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and multi-client service environments
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with automation or scripting (Python, Ansible) advantageous
