Requirements
- Significant experience in senior infrastructure engineering or technical infrastructure roles.
- Strong expertise across Microsoft infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, and enterprise systems administration.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience supporting VMware environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects from design through to implementation.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management principles is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Desirable certifications include Microsoft Azure certifications, VMware certifications, Comp TIA Security+, and ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable IT infrastructure across multiple sites.
- Support enterprise networking, virtualisation, server infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Lead the technical delivery of infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and major incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements to increase resilience and performance.
- Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity testing, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver robust infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to support infrastructure services and project delivery.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with security best practice and standards including ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.
- Identify opportunities to modernise infrastructure through automation, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies.
