My client is looking for an experienced Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing operation on a permanent basis. This is a site-based role working closely with operations, engineering and supply chain teams to ensure production schedules and customer demands are achieved efficiently.
The Role:
- Create and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, material availability and production capacity.
- Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to minimise delays and production bottlenecks.
- Liaise daily with operations, engineering and materials teams to ensure production targets are met.
- Review forecasts, production data and inventory levels to support planning activity.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to manage priorities and delivery expectations.
- Support continuous improvement activity focused on reducing waste and improving efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production and work-in-progress records through ERP systems.
- Assist with new product introductions and changes to manufacturing plans where required.
The Person:
- Previous experience within a production planning, scheduling or manufacturing coordination role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and production processes.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.
- Analytical and solutions-focused approach.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
- Either degree qualified within a relevant discipline or possess equivalent industry experience.
