Client Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)

Location: Gloucester – on site (flexibility once passed probation)

Salary: From £50,000 (DOE)

Our client, a well-established and growing accountancy practice, is hiring a Qualified Senior Accountant to deliver high-quality compliance and advisory support across a varied client portfolio. This role offers clear impact, client ownership, and a close-knit, professional environment.

What you’ll do

• Prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review year-end accounts and corporation tax returns under UK GAAP.
• Produce management accounts and provide clear financial insights to clients.
• Act as a main point of contact, building trusted, long-term relationships.
• Contribute to robust processes and quality controls across the team.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the practice and a range of SME clients to ensure accurate reporting and a consistent, professional service.

What we’re looking for

• Professional qualification (ACCA / ACA / CIMA).
• 5+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy firm.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and statutory reporting; advanced Excel.
• Working knowledge of FRS 102 / FRS 105 (desirable).
• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks and TaxCalc (desirable).

The ideal candidate is organised, methodical and calm under deadlines, with clear communication skills and a positive, collaborative mindset.
