Material Handler / Material Controller
Double Days - Full time (37.5 Hours) - Monday-Friday - Salary GBP28,400 + 12.5% shift allowance (GBP31,540)
Due to growth, my client is looking for an experienced Material Handler / Material Controller to join their Warehouse and Logistics team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong stock control experience and a valid Counterbalance FLT licence to join a busy manufacturing environment supporting production and material flow.
The Role:
- Receive, inspect and book in incoming materials and goods
- Ensure materials are correctly identified, labelled and stored
- Pick, issue and distribute materials to production areas
- Maintain accurate inventory records using internal systems
- Load and unload deliveries using Counterbalance FLT equipment
- Check goods received against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Prepare materials for internal transfers and dispatch
- Complete stock movement documentation accurately
- Supply production departments with materials in line with manufacturing schedules
- Monitor material availability and highlight potential shortages
- Process material returns and update stock records
- Carry out daily FLT inspections and report any defects
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Support continuous improvement across material flow, stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures
The Person:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, Material Controller, Stores Person or Warehouse Operative
- Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence - Essential
- Previous experience operating forklifts within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of stock control and warehouse processes
- Experience using ERP, MRP or Warehouse Management Systems
- Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
- Good numerical and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload within a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and able to work effectively across departments
- Manufacturing or engineering environment experience - Advantageous
- Reach Truck Licence - Advantageous
- PPT Licence - Advantageous
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory control - Advantageous
