At IMSERV, we're proud to be one of the UK's leading energy data and metering specialists. We help businesses understand their energy use through smart metering technology and accurate data services for electricity, gas and water.

This role is UK-based with regular travel to customer sites and occasional international travel as required.

Reporting to the Head of PDA and Strategic Account Management, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of strategically important clients while supporting the delivery of the PDA sales strategy. You'll focus on developing long-term client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and bringing new services to market. This role will involve taking projects from early concept through development and customer trials, right through to securing contracts.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders within key client organisations
  • Developing and maintaining client strategies and key account plans
  • Managing commercial negotiations and client engagement activities
  • Supporting new business development opportunities and sales pitches
  • Identifying and developing opportunities for new services, markets and territories
  • Delivering profitable campaigns and projects in line with agreed pricing frameworks
  • Working closely with operations teams to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Managing financial reporting and performance of your client portfolio using CRM systems
  • Organising and hosting key account reviews with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting marketing and strategy initiatives within the Commercial team
  • Representing PDA / IMSERV at industry events, conferences and governance meetings
  • Building strong working relationships across internal departments to support client delivery

We're looking for a commercially focused professional who enjoys building relationships, developing opportunities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You'll need:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing key client relationships
  • Proven experience in business development and successfully securing new business
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience managing projects from concept through to delivery
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using business systems such as CRM platforms and Microsoft 365 tools
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at senior levels

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the utilities or energy sector
  • Experience working with unmetered electricity settlement or similar services
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as the Institute of Lighting Professionals
  • Experience working with technical or engineering-based solutions
