About the Role

The Release Coordinator supports the smooth delivery of IMSERVs bespoke and industry software deployments. Working under the direction of the Implementation Support Manager, the role helps coordinate pre-deployment activities, maintain testing environments, assist with release processes, and support stakeholders to ensure controlled, high-quality software implementations across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and coordination of software releases from development through to live environments, with minimal risk and disruption to the business.
  • Assist with the production of, and, where required, produce comprehensive deployment plans, working with all stakeholders to ensure all sections of a go-live deployment are documented. Pre-go-live tests and go-live activities are owned and actioned in a sequential order to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Work alongside system testers and user acceptance testers to ensure test activities align with release plans.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the go-live deployment “as it happens” confirming with all action owners that the deployment is progressing according to plan. Taking initiative when issues arise and escalate issues promptly to the Implementation Support Manager.
  • Contribute to ensuring the delivery of development and test is of high quality to ensure minimal maintenance support post go-live.
  • Support the Implementation Support Manager to ensure all documentation has been agreed, signed off and accepted by the business before any commencement of go-live.
  • Support the maintenance and scheduling of UAT and non-production environments.
  • Assist in managing environment bookings, avoiding conflicts between projects and business activities.
  • Maintain the environment and release tracker with accurate and timely updates.
  • Support and collaborate with IT Service Delivery regarding planning of environment downtime for upgrades, patches, refreshes, deployments etc. Including coordinating with the business to ensure downtimes are planned appropriately and at mutually beneficial times.
  • Support the IT Directorate's Forward Schedule of Change (FSC) administration and ensure information is shared accurately with the business.
  • Assist with departmental audits, compliance reviews, and updates to policies and procedures.

What you'll need

  • Understanding of application, database, and environment concepts (or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge).
  • Familiarity with project or deployment lifecycle processes, or experience working within operational/service environments.
  • Experience supporting, testing, or working with business systems and applications in a live environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex, technical issues to both operational users and technical teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with business-critical systems and maintaining high standards.
  • Willingness to work flexibly on out of hours deployments when needed.
  • Ability to plan ahead and identify potential issues across processes or project lifecycles.
