About the Role
Now we're looking for a Finance Transformation & Management Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting into the Finance team, you'll split your time evenly between improving finance processes and delivering core management accounting work. This is a hands-on role suited to a curious, early-career accountant who enjoys improving processes just as much as producing accurate, insightful numbers.
Responsibilities
- Mapping and improving finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R), spotting control gaps and inefficiencies
- Supporting the month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Producing timely management reports and explaining variances against budget and forecast
- Supporting budgeting and rolling forecasts
- Building simple automations (e.g. Power Query / Power Automate) to reduce manual tasks
- Improving data flows and reporting dashboards
- Maintaining SOPs, control documents and process ownership
- Implementing and tracking finance KPIs
- Supporting audit needs and maintaining strong documentation standards
- Providing ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Part-qualified (AAT qualified / studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or actively working towards qualification.
- Around 1-3 years' experience in a finance role with exposure to month-end processes.
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, Power Query)
- Experience using ERP/accounting systems
- Good understanding of accounting principles
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Experience within SMEs (£20m-£100m turnover)
