Gibraltar with its high standard of living, Mediterranean climate and modern English-speaking hospitals is a highly attractive place to live and work. The client is seeking a NMC registered theatre/surgery nurse for a day surgery unit. Commencement will be at the earliest possible opportunity for a 2-year contract (A locum position might be available, too).

Responsibilities include:

  • Pre-operative assessment
  • Intra-operative assistance as the scrub nurse
  • Post-operative recovery

The nurses will ensure patient safety, maintain sterile technique, and support the surgical team to deliver efficient, evidence-based care.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be registered with the UK’s NMC
  • BSc in Adult Nursing
  • 2 years minimum experience in perioperative nursing, including scrub responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing, including scrub and circulating duties
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique, instrument handling, and day surgery workflows
  • Qualifications in perioperative/operating theatre nursing desirable
  • Previous experience working in a day-case surgical setting desirable
  • Venepuncture and Cannulation skills
  • Available to start ASAP
