Locum 1-3 Month Periods 2026 & 2027
IMS Recruitment is one of Europe’s leading international medical recruitment companies. IMS has a longstanding client looking for a locum biomedical engineer on the beautiful Caribbean Islands of Turks and Caicos. The locum will be required intermittently to provide coverage with the department. The locum coverage could be from a minimum of one month and up to three months as per requirements.

The role will encompass:
- Performing preventative maintenance, electrical safety and performance verification, bench and field service on a range of medical equipment.
- All maintenance, inspections and tests will be documented.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical and/or electronic engineering principles.
- Investigates safety-related incidents.
- Considerable knowledge of the safety precautions applicable to the operation and maintenance of clinical equipment and experience in repair/maintenance of specialist and/or complex equipment and PPM service.
- IT experience including technical interfacing of computer equipment and office software.
- Technical and intuitive knowledge of medical equipment.
The offer includes:
- Attractive tax-free locum fee ($4,000.00 US per month).
- Fully furnished free accommodation.
- National Health Insurance and pension contributions made by the employer.
- Economy flight.
Requirements:
- Excellent English.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Biomedical Engineering or Engineering Science equivalent.
- 5 years or more of experience in Biomedical Clinical Engineering.
- Computer related certification preferred.
- Membership of a professional association.
- Able to provide coverage with the department from time to time (dates will be confirmed at a later stage).
