Support Workers assist adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism, dementia and physical disabilities. You’ll provide person-centred care, encourage independence, assist with daily living, and support wellbeing plans across community, supported living and residential environments. Support Workers create safe, supportive environments for adults with varied care needs. The role involves daily living assistance, companionship, behaviour support, and promoting independence. You’ll work across supported living, community services and residential settings while following safeguarding procedures and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily support and community-based care: You’ll assist adults with varied support needs, covering daily routines, personal care, wellbeing, companionship and participation in community activities. Your work ensures individuals remain safe, engaged and supported with dignity and consistency.
  • Daily living support: Help with routines, personal care, meal prep and household tasks. This ensures individuals maintain comfort, independence and stability throughout their day. Promote life skills, community involvement and confidence-building activities to improve quality of life and personal growth.
  • Safeguarding & records: Follow safeguarding procedures and document all support accurately. This ensures compliance, safety and continuity of care.

Must-have

  • Right to work in the UK: You must have full eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Patience & compassion: Essential traits for delivering safe, empathetic and effective support to vulnerable individuals.
  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS is essential for safeguarding and working safely with vulnerable adults.
