We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to oversee the full lifecycle of temporary works on a construction site. This critical role is responsible for ensuring that all temporary structures are properly planned, designed, approved, implemented, and safely dismantled.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all temporary works activities across site
- Oversee the full lifecycle of temporary works, including planning, design approval, implementation, and dismantling
- Ensure all temporary works designs are reviewed, approved, and fit for purpose
- Act as the key link between designers, contractors, and site teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and guidance (e.g. BS 5975, CDM Regulations)
- Verify that safe systems of work and risk controls are in place prior to implementation
- Maintain registers and records of temporary works activities
- Monitor and audit temporary works to ensure ongoing compliance
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with temporary structures
- Support site teams in managing multiple temporary works packages simultaneously
Key requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or in a similar role within construction or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of temporary works procedures, including:
- Design processes
- Risk management
- Safe systems of work
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including BS 5975 and CDM Regulations
- Background in construction, civil engineering, or a related discipline (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent experience preferred)
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent site competency certification
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Experience managing multiple temporary works packages in a live site environment
