Clinical Partners is one of the UK's leading providers of mental health services, and we are looking for clinicians to join our team as a Medication Management Specialist with an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions. You will be required to provide clinical input on side effects and medication safety, in collaboration with prescribers, to support safe and effective titration process. You will be working with service managers, team managers, pharmacy professionals, clinical staff and patients, ensuring high quality patient focused pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all repeat prescriptions, ensuring alignment with titration outcomes and clinical recommendations.
  • Support and quality-check the implementation of NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) for ADHD medications.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the ADHD Service, to ensure a continuity of supply medicines and support patients as they move between episodes of care and care settings.
  • Review all medication use regularly, actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Liaise with our in-house cardiac physiologist to assess and co-ordinate further investigations (eg; ECG) prior to medication initiation, when required.
  • Assist in policy and procedure implementation within the pharmacy team.
  • Oversee administrative duties related to diagnostic assessments and medication suitability documents.
  • Answer basic medicine information queries.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health therapeutics (desirable).
  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), including completion of an approved nursing qualification and relevant clinical training.
  • Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (Independent/Supplementary Prescriber - V300), with at least 2 years of post-qualification prescribing experience in ADHD medications (both stimulant and non-stimulant).
  • Demonstrated experience in prescribing ADHD medications (both stimulant and non-stimulant), and a range of mental health medications, including; antipsychotics, antidepressants and anxiolytics as part of clinical practice.
  • Experience of using CRM Tools.
  • Clear understanding of the needs to maintain confidentiality in all areas of work including phone conversations, written materials, computerised materials and processes.
  • Knowledge of mental health terminology would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working for a health or social care organisation would be desirable.
