Why us?
We will be the biggest XXXL Monopile factory in the world, servicing the offshore wind industry.
We're looking for an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer (Automation) to join our Maintenance team.
Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager, you'll be the site's subject matter expert for industrial automation, electrical controls and machine integration, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of automated production equipment across our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
Working closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, OEM suppliers and commissioning teams, you'll diagnose and resolve complex electrical and automation faults, optimise machine performance and support the continued commissioning of new manufacturing equipment as additional production lines come online.
You'll play a key role in maximising equipment availability, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and driving operational excellence across the factory.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of PLC systems, electrical controls and automated production equipment in an environment where you'll provide technical leadership and specialist expertise.
You'll program, modify and optimise PLCs, HMIs and machine parameters, support machine integration projects, and implement control system improvements that enhance safety, reliability and productivity.
You'll conduct preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance activities, carry out root cause investigations into recurring equipment failures and develop permanent engineering solutions.
Working collaboratively across departments, you'll help reduce reliance on external suppliers by providing expert fault-finding, software modification and technical problem-solving support.
You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and future automation projects, maintain PLC software and electrical documentation, and ensure all activities comply with health and safety legislation, machinery regulations and company procedures.
In addition, you'll provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians, engineers and production teams, helping build automation capability across the organisation.
To be successful, you'll have a minimum of a relevant BTEC or HNC qualification, ideally supported by a degree in Electrical, Automation or a related Engineering discipline.
You'll bring proven PLC programming experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of industrial automation systems, electrical controls and machine integration.
Experience with control panels, cabling systems, servo drives, logic controllers, electrical design and fault-finding is essential.
Knowledge of high and low voltage systems, electrical schematics and control system software development would be highly advantageous.
You'll also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities and the confidence to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
