We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounting Manager to lead our finance operations and ensure the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and statutory compliance.
Reporting to senior management, you will play a key role in managing the financial close process, overseeing compliance obligations, and developing a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS.
- Manage quarter-end and year-end group reporting submissions to the parent company.
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset registers.
- Ensure timely production of accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements and timely filing obligations with Companies House.
• Manage UK tax compliance activities, including
- VAT returns and Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
- Corporation tax computations and supporting schedules
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax legislation, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Financial Controls & Operations
- Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and minimise financial risk.

- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Payroll processing
- Ensure financial processes are efficient, well documented, and aligned with best practice.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, controls, and reporting processes.
- Team Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance assistants and accountants.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance function.
- Partner with commercial and operational teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide financial insight and guidance to support business decision-making.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting within a UK business environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Sound understanding of UK VAT and corporation tax compliance.
- Proven people management and team leadership experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience within a multinational or group reporting environment.
- Experience improving financial processes and internal controls.
- Knowledge of payroll accounting and fixed asset management.
