An IT Business Development Manager is tasked with developing, managing, and sustaining the business relations of an IT or digital company. They ensure that the accounts manager and the team are managing the accounts well according to the set rules and regulations. They may also create training and coaching in specific IT-related areas of the companies whenever needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing a business development strategy focused on financial gain
  • Arranging business development meetings with prospective clients
  • Administer and manage the financial and business affairs of the multiple units within and across IT
  • Facilitate and manage all financial resources, contracts, grants and/or receipt generated areas for IT
  • Perform a range of financial and business-related duties associated with specialized areas such as accounting, budgeting, auditing, and financial forecasting
  • Perform or have oversight of all IT purchasing, contract and invoice management, accounts reconciliation including maintenance and reporting of financial data, financial projections, and cash/receipts management
  • Coordinate various aspects of the people management and student employee processes across IT
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop entry level staff into valuable salespeople
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
  • Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world

Skills:

  • Able to create and implement business and strategic plans in accordance with the client’s requirements
  • Proficient in effectively initiating or establishing key business relationships
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Experience in customer support is a plus
