Improbable is a venture builder and technology company creating and scaling businesses in Web3, blockchain, and decentralised infrastructure. We build companies from the ground up and invest in ventures shaping the next generation of the internet. We are developing next-generation networked and decentralised systems that power digital assets, open networks, and Web3-native economies. Over the past decade, we’ve evolved into a global leader in venture building and blockchain-enabled infrastructure, enabling creators, brands, and communities to build and scale decentralised products at global scale. At Improbable, we’re motivated by solving hard, meaningful problems, building technology that is ambitious, durable, and transformative.

We are seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support venture leaders and central stakeholders with planning, insight, and decision support. This role will help translate strategy into clear financial plans, ensure performance is tracked against expectations, and provide timely analysis to support prioritisation and capital allocation. You will work directly with senior stakeholders across ventures and central functions, helping improve clarity, accountability, and decision making across the business.

Your Opportunity

  • Business partnering & decision support: Partner with venture and functional leaders to support planning, prioritisation and commercial decision-making. Provide clear financial insight on performance, risks, and opportunities. Support the development of business cases, investment proposals and scenario analysis. Act as a trusted finance point of contact, helping stakeholders understand trade-offs while bringing structure to ambiguous questions.
  • Fund management: Work with our in-house Strategy team to support Investment Committee decision making, monitor investment performance and reporting. Work with our Treasury Management function to report and improve our fiat and web3 investments.
  • Forecasting, budgeting & performance reporting: Lead budgeting and forecasting for assigned areas, including periodic re-forecasts. Produce management reporting packs with variance analysis and actionable commentary. Help establish consistent KPI frameworks (financial and operational) that support effective decision-making. Support cash and runway planning by translating plans into expected spend and funding requirements.
  • Governance & financial discipline: Embed good financial discipline across the organisation through clear processes, timelines and ownership. Work with Financial Control and Finance Operations to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned to underlying accounting. Improve transparency of cost drivers and support tracking of spend against plan.

Why you’re made for this

  • Experience in a Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, Commercial Finance or Management Reporting role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercially minded and analytically strong, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insight and influence non-finance stakeholders.
  • Confident building, reviewing and improving financial models and scenarios in Google Sheets (strong Excel skills also expected).
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, shifting priorities and incomplete information, with a bias toward structure, clarity and delivery.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency and strong financial discipline.
  • Interest in (or exposure to) Web3, blockchain and digital assets is highly desirable, with a willingness to learn and develop expertise in this space.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) preferred, but not essential.
