About the role:
This entry-level position is designed for ambitious graduates or entry level finance professionals who want to build a flexible, future-proof professional toolbox. Day-to-day focus will center on delivering high-quality, consistent performance as this key role within finance. Guided by our clear career progression framework, weekly check-ins, and supportive mentors, you will master foundational workflows while sharpening your technical execution and personal attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Daily Transaction & Ledger Integrity: Managing daily bank reconciliations within Xero to an excellent standard; proactively sourcing, coding, and matching bills to maintain clean financial records while taking full ownership of nominal ledger postings and resolving subsequent queries.
- Compliance & Authorisation Workflows: Passing fully validated invoices to the Assistant Accountant, ensuring all items are strictly reviewed and approved in alignment with company authorisation limits and internal compliance benchmarks.
- Workflow Automation Ownership: Driving the automated ApprovalMax process from initial data entry through to final completion, enforcing consistent finance approval workflows to safeguard our internal audit trails.
- Expense Management & Policy Enforcement: Reviewing, verifying, and approving employee expenses with a sharp eye for accuracy; confidently communicating and pushing back where requests fall outside of company compliance scopes or expense policies.
- Credit Control & Debt Management: Taking ownership of establishing credit limits with Euler Hermes, meticulously recording non-paying accounts, and executing the timely collection of aged debt to optimise cash flow and provide clear visibility of outstanding positions.
- Timeline Delivery Support: Actively supporting the finance team during high-priority month-end close procedures and annual year-end audit cycles, assisting with balance sheet reconciliations to ensure a smooth, efficient, and timetable-driven process.
